Salvi Danés

Salvi Danés cuenta con tan sólo 26 años pero ya tiene el ojo de un maestro.  Muestra de ello es su serie "Hidalgos" que se expone en el Claustre de l’Hospital (C/ Hospital,2) en Torroella de Montgrí.

Ricardo Alcalde

Del 18 de abril al 6 de mayo, Ricardo Alcalde Corral expone unas cuarenta obras, la mitad de las cuales son retratos y han sido realizadas mediante la técnica de carbón directo.  Las otras veinte fotografías tienen como soporte el papel baritado y representan escenas cotidianas de tareas del campo y vida social de los vecinos de "A Lama", un pueblo en la provincia de Pontevedra.  El lugar que acoge la muestra es el edificio de la Deputación de Pontevedra sito en la Plaza de Santa María s/n de la misma cuidad.

Vari Carames' solo show entitled "Visión Animal" opens tonight at 8 p.m. at the Railowsky photogallery in Valencia, featuring 20 photos depicting civilised beasts that attempt to live amonst our brutish human race.  The show runs to May 10th.

Madrid Expo

Enrique Muda is a young Barcelona-based street photographer working in color and one of my favorites.  His has a keen eye and an even keener sense of humor.  He has teamed up with Luis Pereira for this two-man show called "A Pie de Calle"...For any of you who happen to be in Madrid, the opening will be at the Círculo de Bellas Artes this Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

Jaume Pujol will be showing a new collection of elegantly sepia-toned prints in Barcelona. Pujol is a veteran "street photographer" whose vision increases in complexity as time goes on. His work is film-based, a lot of it shot with the Hasselblad SWC and reminds me of Friedlander. One not to miss.
